Youth Theatre Ireland’s National Youth Theatre production for 2017 is R.U.R. – Rossum’s Universal Robots, by Karel Čapek.

The ambiguity between humans and robots is a central theme to the production. The chosen illustration emphasises the organic, yet synthetic nature of Čapek’s robots. An alternate, more consciously deco approach didn’t make the final cut.
